| You might also be interested in my background. I am one of a minority (although our numbers are increasing) of people living here in the Phoenix area who was also born and raised here in Arizona. My grandfather moved here back in 1909 and my father was also born in the Phoenix area. I attended grade school and high school in the Sunnyslope area of Phoenix. I also attended Arizona State University where I obtained a B.S. in Accounting (1972) and an MBA (1982). I earned my CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation in 1984 and my CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation in 1997. Prior to entering public accounting, I worked for Salt River Project for sixteen years including the last seven years as Manager of Financial Accounting. My past work experience includes Internal Revenue Service and Reynolds Metals Company in the Los Angeles area, and Arizona Water Company and Arizona Public Service here in Phoenix. I began my CPA practice in 1998. I provide accounting and tax services for small businesses, individuals and non-profit organizations. I also enjoy assisting businesses with financial management and accounting/office technology issues. Currently, I am a member of the Valley of the Sun Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants, American Institute of CPA's, Arizona Society of CPA's, Entrepreneurial CPA Network and Scottsdale Airpark Kiwanis Club. Also, I am a board member and past board president of Interfaith Cooperative Ministries, a food and clothing bank in downtown Phoenix. In the past, I have taught accounting and finance classes on a part-time basis at Glendale Community College, Grand Canyon University and Arizona State University. I also have provided tax advice as a guest on Two Guys & Your Money, a radio show on KFNN. I currently live in Scottsdale with my wife, Dawn, and our two golden retrievers, Gabby and Poppy. Dawn and I attend New Covenant Lutheran Church. As time permits, I enjoy walking Gabby (it may be more accurate to say Gabby walking me), tennis and biking.
